Sahana Arun Kumar
With over 12 years of experience in the digital and financial inclusion space, Sahana Arun Kumar comes with robust expertise in the fields of digital transformation and financial inclusion in emerging market contexts. She specializes in design, strategy and development of digital and inclusion projects and has worked with a wide range of stakeholders in this industry from telecom operators to banks to microfinance institutions to third party payment processors and international donor/funder organizations in order to assist them with their digital projects, transformation strategies and objectives depending on their market and organizational context.
At the start of her digital finance career, Sahana was with Societe Generale’s Retail Banking division where she worked on projects targeting new low-income market penetration. Sahana was mostly focused on expanding Societe Generale’s business to the un(der)banked segments and providing them access to financial products and services.
Since 2006, Sahana’s work has covered a number of countries in Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. She is also a speaker and trainer for digital and financial inclusion thematics and has contributed to various events organized by the likes of Boulder Institute, ADA, MAIN network, GIM UEMOA, Sanabel, Hult Business School etc. Sahana holds an MBA degree from HEC, Paris. A French national, Sahana speaks English, French, Spanish and Hindi among other Indian regional languages.
